Why Carbohydrate Timing Matters for Training
Your muscles run primarily on glycogen — stored glucose derived from carbohydrates — during moderate to high-intensity exercise. Glycogen availability directly affects performance: when glycogen runs low, you slow down, fatigue sooner, and compromise training quality. Carbohydrate timing strategies aim to optimize glycogen availability before exercise and accelerate repletion after.
